I have been a lifelong, avid fan of mythology, science fiction and fantasy stories.
Beginning with Aesop's Fables, a children's picture-book encyclopedia and many How-And-Why wonder books, I moved on to studying the great Edith Hamilton's "Mythology," which I read multiple times. I followed this with reading the "Narnia" series numerous times until I found my true love of fantasy – "The Lord of the Rings."
While still in high school, I ghost-wrote what might have come to be known as the "Encyclopedia Hobbitannica" had that not been published first.
During my time in the Navy, I discovered the adventures of fantasy role-playing in the game "Empire of the Petal Throne." I was enamored with the idea of creating worlds filled with different life-forms, societal structures and a wide variety of professional guilds.
I am a Distinguished Toastmaster, past president of one of my four Toastmasters clubs, past president of my church, and a member in good standing of the San Diego Writers and Editors Guild, Publishers and Writers of San Diego and the Independent Book Publishers Association.
I began writing full-length novels in high school. "Mystic Prince" is the first volume of the "Mystic Tales" series.
